Herons Beat BC, 4-3
|
The Hammond Herons racked up a win at The Heron Refuge, bumping off the Put-In-Bay BC, 4-3. Alberto Mendoza, who started for Hammond, pitched effectively for his team. The Herons' win now puts them at 63-32.
One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the second. That's when Jean Lechuga drew a walk. The Herons went on to win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Lechuga said.
