Silva Dazzles in Put-In-Bay Win
|
The Put-In-Bay BC got a magnificent performance from pitcher Rob Silva, who muffled the Hammond offense en route to a tight 2-0 BC win at The Heron Refuge. Domingo Velasco recorded the save for Put-In-Bay, his 24th of the season. The BC, at 52-42, sit in 4th place in the Silver A.
Silva's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 5 hits. Silva, who is tied for 8th in the SA with a 1.06 WHIP, goes to 6-6 on the year with 122 strikeouts.
Silva told a Put-In-Bay Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
