The Hammond Herons picked up a win at The Coffin, knocking off the Grim Reapers, 7-1. On the mound for Hammond was left-hander Rust Cohle, who played a pivotal role in the win. Cohle, now 7-5, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 11, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Herman Guevera earned the save, his 2nd.

In the top of the second inning, shortstop Mark Frisby came through big-time for the Herons. With Hammond leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.

Cohle said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "Pretty good feeling in the clubhouse right now."
