Hotspur U-21 Drop Another One
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Hotspur Kiddie Complex. But Manuel Guillama conjured up just enough offense to carry the Herons past the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, 3-2. Guillama was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Hammond reliever Herman Guevera, now 3-0. The loser was Millard Dalton. Jim Unknown locked down his 1st save.
The outcome might have been different had it not been for Guillama. In the top of the seventh inning, when the Herons were trailing 1-0, Guillama delivered a two-out 3-run home run for Hammond, giving his team the lead.
"I like our mindset right now," said Hammond manager Raúl Aguilar.
The Hotspur U-21 have now dropped 5 straight.
