The Hammond Herons went home winners at The Heron Refuge, thanks in large part to starter Rust Cohle. Cohle silenced the Phoenix Hotspur U-21, enabling Hammond to grab the 6-0 win. Hammond is now 46-23, 3 games up in the Silver A.

The Herons got a lift from second baseman José Jarca who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the third inning off Ismael Lara. It was his 36th RBI of the season and put Hammond in front, 1-0.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Cohle.
