The Mt. Vernon Bulls eeked out a 5-4 win versus the Put-In-Bay BC at Ballpark of Mt. Vernon. Nobody did more than pitcher Franklin Johnson, who captured player of the game honors. Johnson, now 1-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Even with the win, the Mt. Vernon Bulls have a dismal 22-46 record.

Pablo Morales's at-bat in the bottom of the first was significant for the Bulls. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Mt. Vernon leading 1-0, the left fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
