Cauldrons Rally For Late Win Over Bulls

Mt. Vernon got a terrific performance from pitcher Chet Delaney, but it wasn't enough to beat the Hogsmeade Cauldrons. Hogsmeade won the Gators Ballpark contest, 6-5. Delaney was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings allowing 2 runs. Hogsmeade reliever Iván Mendoza picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Franklin Johnson shouldered the loss. Earning his 5th save for Hogsmeade was Pancho Ortíz.
Hogsmeade took control in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Héctor Casas hit a run-scoring single to make it 6-5, Cauldrons.
"It was a solid team effort," said Casas after the game.
At 35-29, Hogsmeade is in 4th place in the Silver A.
