Reapers Clip Dragoons in Tight Contest
|
The Grim Reapers defeated the Louisiana Dragoons, 5-4, at Dragoons War Memorial Stadium. Grim designated hitter Carlos Chávez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Their 30-32 record puts the Reapers 6th in the Silver A.
Chávez had a game-changing at-bat for Grim. It came in the top of the ninth inning with one out. Chávez hit a 0-2 curveball from Ángel Gómez for a 2-run home run. It put Grim in front, 5-4.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Louisiana manager José González said following the tough loss.
