Chiefs Come Back Late to Clip Storm
|
The Connetquot Chiefs topped the Syracuse Storm, 1-0, in USSL Single A action at Storm Park. The player of the game was Connetquot pitcher Jim Davis. The Chiefs own a robust 30-19 mark.
Mario Rivera's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a sinker from Walt Rice for a run-scoring single. It put Connetquot in front, 1-0.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Davis.
