The Hammond Herons got a stellar performance from pitcher José Díaz, who handcuffed the Connetquot offense en route to a 8-0 win at The Big Teepee. Hammond goes to 22-7, Connetquot to 16-13.

Díaz earned the win, going 8.1 strong innings for Hammond. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 7. Connetquot hitters had little success against him.

"It was a solid team effort," said Díaz after the game.
