The Storm grabbed a 2-1 win at The Big Teepee, overcoming a fine effort from Connetquot pitcher Lorenzo Fabián. Fabián went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. Syracuse reliever Alfonso Dolton was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jim Davis. Syracuse currently is in third place in the Silver A at 14-10.
Syracuse grabbed control in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Tyrell Wellick delivered a 2-run double, to make it 2-0 in favor of the Storm.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Wellick told reporters after the game.
