Reapers Fall Short, 5-3, at Connetquot
|
The Connetquot Chiefs beat the Grim Reapers, 5-3, at The Big Teepee. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Sang Hong-Do, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs. Leon Siebert picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Darius Baxa was tagged with the loss. Carlos Rosales earned the save, his 4th, for the Chiefs.
Otis Brewer, who is tied for 3rd in the SA in doubles with 5, aided the Connetquot cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 1-3 with a double.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Hong-Do. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
The Reapers fall to 7-9 and continue their wobbly start to the 2025 season.
