Herons Squelch Put-In-Bay Offense in Shutout Win
The Hammond Herons did just enough to sneak past the Put-In-Bay BC, 3-0, at Put-In-Bay Ballpark. Hammond pitcher José Díaz earned player of the game honors. The Hammond Herons, now 10-1, have had a terrific start to the season.

Rubén Aracil went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles for Hammond. In the top of the sixth, with the teams deadlocked, 0-0, Aracil delivered for the Herons. His run-scoring ground out put Hammond on top, 1-0.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Aracil told the Hammond Chronicle.
