Hotspur U-21 Win at Connetquot, 3-2
|
Spirited fans at The Big Teepee greeted the Connetquot Chiefs for their clash with the Phoenix Hotspur U-21.
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 trumped the Connetquot Chiefs, 3-2, at The Big Teepee. Phoenix right fielder Tyler Kinjeketile was named player of the game for his performance. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Loeck Visser earned the win for Phoenix. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-1. Richard Osborn finished the game for Phoenix and earned his 2nd save.
Kinjeketile had a game-changing single in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 curveball from Robinson Luján, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Hotspur U-21 a 3-2 lead. It was the 10th hit of the year for Kinjeketile.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Connetquot manager Don Nelson, "let me know."
The Chiefs, now 4-6, have been pitiful so far.
