Gators Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Hogsmeade Cauldrons and the Hammond Herons.

Hogsmeade beat Hammond, 9-5. The win in part was due to third baseman Jorge Gómez, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lorenzo Valverde earned the save for Hogsmeade, his 1st of the year.

Hogsmeade grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, Austin Hathaway delivered a 2-run single, to make it 7-5 in favor of the Cauldrons.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play ever better," said Hogsmeade manager Steve Hawkins.

Losses have been few and far between for the Hammond Herons so far this season. Their record drops to 6-1.
