The 2025 season is off to a good start for the Hammond Herons. The home Herons knocked off the Grim Reapers, 5-0, at The Heron Refuge. Hammond pitcher Shuntavyious Primes-Willes was named player of the game.

Primes-Willes was in the zone all game. He frustrated Grim hitters while giving the Herons 8 innings of quality work. Primes-Willes threw 108 pitches, allowing 4 hits and getting 9 punchouts.
