Expos Go Down to Defeat, 5-4
|
Waterfall Park was the site of a competitive game between the Niagara Falls Expos and Belleville Bulls.
Benefiting from Dean Summers's productive game, the Belleville Bulls downed the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-4. Summers was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Bulls. Belleville reliever Francisco Jiménez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-2. Sergio Zamora took the loss. Earning his 8th save for Belleville was Fernando Espinosa.
Summers contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Belleville in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Summers took a fastball from Sergio Zamora and stroked the double to right-center. His 5th double of the season allowed the Bulls to leap in front, 3-1.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Summers told the Belleville Bulletin.
The second-place Expos have lost 4 consecutive games.
