Hawks Fall Short, 2-1, at Idaho Falls
|
Idaho Falls Chukars starter Shotaro Sugahara was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Highwood Hawks, 2-1. Earning his 13th save of the year was Enrique Costa. The second-place Chukars raised their record to 49-34.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Chukars sent 21-year-old third baseman Leon Carlisle to the plate with runners on 1st and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run, to put Idaho Falls on top, 2-0.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Sugahara told the Idaho Falls Times.
