The Belleville Bulls got a superb performance from pitcher Gonzalo Ruíz, but the Guzzlers still won the game, 5-4. Ruíz was named the player of the game despite the loss. He came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters . Miguel Cervantes picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 6 in 6.2 innings. The Guzzlers raised their record to 41-39.

A defensive miscue in the bottom of the third could have cost the Guzzlers. With Galesburg leading 4-0, Toussiant L'Ouverture reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. In the end, Galesburg was still able to win the ballgame.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Belleville manager Joe Richard said following the tough loss.
