Thundercats Cut Down Bowties, 4-1
|
Richardson City beat Buckhead on the strength of starter Alec Pittman's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Pittman, now 2-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Dave Reed recorded the save for Richardson City, his 4th of the season.
In the bottom of the 1st, the Thundercats grabbed the lead on a two-out single by Eduardo Álvarez. Richardson City at the time was trailing 1-0, but Álvarez's 2-run single off Kirby Brown put his team in front.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Buckhead manager Kerry Hofmeister said following the tough loss.
The win gives Richardson City a record of 8-3.
