1787 BC Beat Chukars, 4-2
|
Carrier Field was the site of a competitive game between the Idaho Falls Chukars and Delaware 1787 BC.
The Delaware 1787 BC picked up a win at Carrier Field, knocking off the Idaho Falls Chukars, 4-2. Starting pitcher Armando Marrero, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The winning pitcher was Marrero, now 10-3. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 9. Apollo Cepeda picked up the save for Delaware, his 20th of the year.
Early in the game, second baseman Sam Quint had a 2-run home run for Delaware. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the 1787 BC on top, 2-0.
"It's a mindset," said Marrero. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
Delaware is now 43-19, Idaho Falls 35-27.
