Highwood beat Bellevue, 6-3. The win in part was due to second baseman Rojo Nasution, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Stanley Eldrige earned the win for Highwood. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 7-4. The save went to Artie Best, his 2nd this season.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the third inning when the Hawks sent teenager Andrew Crosby to the plate against Bruins hurler Tye Collyer. With a runner on 1st and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-2 curveball to score 1.
"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Crosby.
The 4th-place Hawks now have a win-loss record of 32-30.
