Phil Miller never let the Niagara Falls Expos find their groove. Throughout the game, Miller, who is tied for 7th in the 3A in strikeouts with 79, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Jets to a win. The 8th-place Expos have dropped 5 straight games.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the 11th, Ben Simpson had a chance to end it. Niagara Falls pitcher Ernie Carnathan had other ideas. But with two outs, Simpson reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run. The Jets had the walk-off win.

"We did enough to win," said Simpson.
