Seahawks Lose, 3-1, at Waterfall Park
|
Niagara Falls starter Javier Matajudíos had a strong outing against the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at Waterfall Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-1 win. Matajudíos got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Matajudíos allowed 1 earned run. Cherles Gachineiro closed the door for Niagara Falls, picking up his 4th save of the year.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-born Pedro Torres came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st and the Expos trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to left to put Niagara Falls on top.
"Javier was throwing free and easy," said Niagara Falls manager Orlando Batista.
The Expos saw their record improve to 19-21.
