Tight Tilt Goes to Hawks, 4-2
|
The Highwood Hawks did just enough to secure a 4-2 victory over the Niagara Falls Expos at Waterfall Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Max Shaw, who captured player of the game honors. Shaw picked up the win for Highwood, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. The Hawks bumped their record to 22-15 with this latest triumph.
Félix González was a key contributor to the win for the Hawks. In the top of the sixth with no one out, the light-hitting left fielder stroked a triple to center. He went 1 for 4 with a triple.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said González.
