Retrievers Get Past Atlanta for 5-2 Win
|
The Northern Virginia Retrievers picked up a win at Smoke Ballpark, knocking off the Atlanta Smoke, 5-2. Starting pitcher Lou Hartling was an essential part of his team's success. Picking up the save was Ilie Paunescu, his 3rd. The Northern Virginia Retrievers are off to a tough start, getting just their 4th win in 11 games.
Gustavo Fuentes broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the ninth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Retrievers in front, 3-2. For the game, Fuentes drew 1 walk.
"I really like what we did out there today," Hartling said after the game.
