Highwood shortstop Raleigh Delaney made his presence felt in the 6-3 Hawks triumph over the Kennesaw Jets. Delaney went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Stanley Eldrige got credit for the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits in 8 innings. Vicente García got credit for the save for Highwood. It was his 11th of the year.

Delaney had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Troy Thorn, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Hawks a 6-3 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Delaney.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Delaney told the Highwood Gazette. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."

The second-place Hawks are now 20-14, the Jets 15-19.
