Caterpillars Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Grand Forks Caterpillars picked up a win at Bellevue Field, knocking off the Bellevue Bruins, 5-3. On the mound for Grand Forks was right-hander Orlando Uribe, who played a pivotal role in the win. Grand Forks reliever Iván Flores was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Raúl Colón took the loss for Bellevue. Seihaci Igarachi locked down his 2nd save.
Ab van der Kamp had the most critical at-bat for Grand Forks, coming in the top of the 11th inning with one out and runners on 1st and 2nd. van der Kamp hit a first pitch fastball from Raúl Colón for a run-scoring single. It put Grand Forks in front, 3-2.
"This is a resilient bunch," said Grand Forks manager Todd England.
The slumping Bruins have dropped 8 in a row.
