Bowties Win 6-5 Walk-Off

The Buckhead Bowties stopped the Northern Virginia Retrievers, 6-5, at Buckhead Grounds. The Bowties got a big game from Enrique Marroquín, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Akihiko Rin got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Buckhead's record now stands at 32-70, placing them last in the Division I.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth. That's when Buckhead pinch hitter Freddy Carea, facing Ilie Paunescu, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bowties the 6-5 win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Carea told a Buckhead Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
