Niagara Falls pitcher Manuel Montés gave the Bruins all they could handle, but in the end, Bellevue left Waterfall Park with a 2-1 win. Montés allowed 2 earned runs on 10 hits over 8.1 innings. George Brotzman, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The Expos fall to 6-8 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2025 season.
Also contributing to the win was center fielder José Barrón, who stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth for Bellevue. For the game, Barrón went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles.
"Runs were at a premium," said Bellevue manager Ricardo Martínez.
