Highlanders Edge Lannister United in Pitching Duel
The Lannister United Lionhearts wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Kelsey MacGillivary, falling 1-0 to the Asheville Highlanders at Lionheart Field. Asheville reliever Romano Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 11-4. Kelsey MacGillivary shouldered the loss. The Highlanders go to 48-54, putting them 7th in the Premier AA.

Early in the game, catcher Gonzalo Valentín had a solo home run for Asheville. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Highlanders on top, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Valentín. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
