Victory Over Continentals Takes Mercer Island to 65-35
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Chesapeake Continentals, 4-3, at Chesapeake Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Leonardo Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Denis Melis got the save, his 16th in 19 chances. Mercer Island goes to 65-35. The win puts them 9½ games up in their division.

In the top of the 4th, Mercer Island took the lead on a 2-run double by Marshall Attwood. At the time, the Screaming Eagles were trailing 2-1, but Attwood's hit with two outs against Chesapeake pitcher Pedro Silva put them in front, 3-2.
