People near Loony Bin no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
Chesapeake got a terrific performance from pitcher António Rúbio, but it wasn't enough to beat the Minnesota Loons. Minnesota won the Loony Bin contest, 4-3. Rúbio was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The Loons saw their record improve to 43-56.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth. That's when Minnesota pinch hitter Keith Newbold, facing Dae-il Kim, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Loons the 4-3 win.
Newbold said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."
