Casper had no answer for Yakima Hops starter Dave Morse, who flummoxed Ghosts hitters as the Hops cruised to a 6-1 victory. Morse, now 10-5, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 6, and allowing 1 earned run. Yakima, at 52-42, occupies third place in the Premier AA.
The Hops got a big at-bat from Rafael Najcrea. For the game, Najcrea went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 16th hit of the season gave Yakima a 2-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Morse told the Yakima Chronicle. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
