Asheville Park was the site of a competitive game between the Asheville Highlanders and Sun Prairie Swallows.
Sun Prairie used a superb performance from starting pitcher Bob Payne to down the Asheville Highlanders, 2-1. Payne, now 10-6, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Corbin Jameson notched his 5th save in 7 chances.
Luis Hernández, who is tied for 2nd in the PAA in doubles with 20, aided the Sun Prairie cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the third. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"Both teams played hard," said Sun Prairie manager Eric Spence.
The Swallows saw their record improve to 42-49.
