Casper overcame a superlative game from Ieyoshi Yamamoto to beat Minnesota, 8-5. The Minnesota catcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Casper goes to 40-48, Minnesota to 38-50.
The Ghosts were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when first baseman Ron Coffman turned a first pitch fastball from José Juárez into a grand slam home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Casper a thrilling 8-5 win.
