Chesapeake beat Yakima, 6-5. The win in part was due to left fielder Jorge Rodríguez, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Vicente Reyes earned the save, his 2nd, for the Continentals. Yakima, at 47-36, has lost 5 straight.

Tied up with the Hops in the top of the sixth, the Continentals got a boost from catcher Dominique Prost. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Prost saw a 3-1 cutter from Jorge Cruz and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Chesapeake on top, 5-3.

"Been a rough stretch for us," said Yakima manager Jamie Randall.
