Athletic Club KC pitcher Juan Gusmán gave the Divided all they could handle, but in the end, D.C. left Washington Stadium with a 1-0 win. Gusmán allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.2 innings. Gabriel Hidalgo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-1. Ole Kos was tagged with the loss. The third-place Divided lifted their record to 57-43.

Ray Sears was the walk-off hero for D.C.. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the D.C. third baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said D.C. Divided manager Jonathan Gerth.
