Richardson City Edges Northern Virginia, 1-0, Wilson Ks 9
|
The Richardson City Thundercats went home winners at The Thunder Dome, thanks in large part to starter Cordell Wilson. Wilson silenced the Northern Virginia Retrievers, enabling Richardson City to grab the 1-0 win. Dave Reed earned the save, his 24th, for the Thundercats. The second-place Thundercats have won 7 in a row.
Wilson, a native of Farmington Hills, Michigan, was dealing all game. He kept Northern Virginia hitters off-balance, while giving the Thundercats 8.1 quality innings. Wilson threw 92 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 9.
Wilson attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
