Swallows Deal Loons Painful Loss
Sun Prairie Swallows starter Bob Payne was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Minnesota Loons, 4-3. Sun Prairie reliever Kyle MacRae picked up the win to move to 1-1. Jim Unknown suffered the loss. The Swallows now own a record of 27-37.

The Swallows were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Carlos Garza turned a 1-0 fastball from Jim Unknown into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Sun Prairie a thrilling 4-3 win.

Garza told the Sun Prairie Gazette: "I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more.' You win just by scoring more runs."
