Asheville had no answer for Yakima Hops starter Dave Morse, who flummoxed Highlanders hitters as the Hops cruised to a 7-0 victory. With the win over Asheville, the Hops improved to 29-18.

The Hops got a big at-bat from Luis Luquín. For the game, Luquín went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Yakima a 4-0 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Luquín told the Yakima Chronicle.
