Late Rally by Screaming Eagles Secures Win
Mercer Island overcame a superlative game from Jorge Cruz to beat Yakima, 5-2. The Yakima pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. José Sánchez finished the game for Mercer Island and earned his 4th save. Mercer Island has now won 4 straight.

Mercer Island took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Gerjan de Best hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Screaming Eagles fans to their feet.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Mercer Island manager Jared Gilbert.
