Continentals Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Hops

Yakima wasted a solid 6.2-inning effort from starting pitcher Mathieu Neri, losing to Chesapeake, 2-1, at Hops Park. Picking up the save was Dae-il Kim, his 3rd. The Continentals own a robust 18-18 mark.
Gil Nichols, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth. That's when he connected on a changeup from José Castaneda for a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season put Chesapeake in front, 2-1.
"We did just enough to win," said Nichols.
