Continentals Deal Swallows 6-3 Setback
|
The Chesapeake Continentals did just enough to sneak past the Sun Prairie Swallows, 6-3, at Swallows Ballpark. Chesapeake pitcher Carlos Medina earned player of the game honors. Héctor Rodríguez earned the save for Chesapeake, his 5th. With the win, the Continentals have a record of 14-16.
Stephen Crouch, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the top of the seventh. That's when he connected on a fastball from Sherwood Lang for a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season put Chesapeake in front, 3-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Crouch said after the game.
