Great Day for Phillips in Hops Win
Yakima catcher Joe Phillips was instrumental in his team's 15-4 win over the Asheville Highlanders. Phillips, who is tied for 7th in the PAA in doubles with 7, went 3-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Hops. The first-place Hops have a one-game lead in their division.

Phillips came through with some timely hitting for Yakima. With the score 2-0 in the bottom of the first and no one down, Phillips hit a first pitch curveball for a 2-run single. It was his 31st hit of the season -- and a big reason the Hops managed to win.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Phillips said in reaction to the win.
