Screaming Eagles Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Lionhearts
Mercer Island withstood an impressive performance by Lannister United center fielder Roberto Vázquez to defeat the Lionhearts, 6-4, at Mercer Island Grounds. Vázquez was 4-5 with 4 singles. He drove in 3 runs. The win was credited to Adam Taylor in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Tom Rosas took the loss. It was the 14th win in 19 games this year for the defending champion Screaming Eagles, who are picking up where they left off.

Mercer Island took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Marcos Reyes hit a clutch 2-run home run to bring Screaming Eagles fans to their feet.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Reyes said.
