Multi-HR Day for Álvarez as Lionhearts Overpower Ghosts, 7-4

The Lannister United Lionhearts beat the Casper Ghosts, 7-4, at The Graveyard. Lannister United designated hitter Gonzalo Álvarez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Enea Dini picked up the win with 6 innings of work. He allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 1. On the season, he is now 1-0. Tom Rosas closed it out for his 1st save.
When the Lionhearts needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Álvarez who delivered. Facing Casper pitcher José Vega the top of the third with runners on 1st and 3rd, Álvarez hit his 2nd home run of the year. It made the score 7-0.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Casper manager Tony Cracknell. "But we decided not to take it."
The loss drops Casper to 4-6.
