Screaming Eagles Saddle Continentals with 7-4 Loss
|
The Chesapeake Continentals got a superb performance from catcher Dominique Prost, but the Screaming Eagles still won the game, 7-4. Prost was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 4 RBI. The winner was Mercer Island reliever Pedro Álvarez, now 1-0. The loser was António Rúbio. Denis Melis locked down his 2nd save.
Also doing his part was second baseman Sergio Anruvio, who stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the second for Mercer Island. For the game, Anruvio went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles.
"It feels good to get this one," Anruvio told the Mercer Island News.
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, now 5-2, have been playing some good baseball.
