The Asheville Highlanders topped the Lannister United Lionhearts, 11-7, with Paco Vásquez playing a big role. Vásquez went 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Highlanders in the win. Asheville reliever Romano Martínez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Hank Downey absorbed the loss. The Highlanders raised their record to 2-4.

Javier Luna's at-bat in the bottom of the sixth was significant for the Highlanders. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Asheville leading 8-7, the third baseman drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Asheville Highlanders manager Jacob Green. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
