The Asheville Highlanders defeated the Lannister United Lionhearts, 5-4. Earning player of the game honors was catcher António Ramos, who went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. Danial Apodaca was the winner. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 1 run on 10 hits, with 1 walk and 1 strikeout. Gus Gamble finished the game for Asheville and earned his 1st save.
Ramos came through with some timely hitting for Asheville. With the score 4-1 in the bottom of the sixth and two down, Ramos hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was his 3rd hit of the season -- and a big reason the Highlanders managed to win.
"We take it day by day here," said Ramos, "and today was a good one for us."
The Asheville Highlanders, now 1-3, have not found much traction so far in 2025.
